Brentwood School is a leading HMC co-educational independent school in

are seeking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support
team in this important and well-resourced department. The department plays a
vital role in supporting the development of pupils at Brentwood, many of whom
achieve excellent examination results at GCSE, A Level and at IBDP.

The successful candidate must have considerable learning support experience
and possess creativity, excellent interpersonal skills, a great work ethic and strong
organisational abilities.

Brentwood School has its own pay scale significantly above the maintained sector.

Assistant Head of Islip

Start date: August 2019
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Head of House into
our Sixth Form boarding house at 376 Banbury Road. The
position is designed to be fully residential, with bed and
board provided during the School’s term times to aid in the
proper performance of the duties of this role.
Therolecanbebroadlybrokendownintotwocomplementary
dimensions, of a Residential Assistant (usually during the
evenings and weekends) and a Day Matron (usually during
the School day).
We are looking for someone who:


  • Hasacaringandcheerfulpersonalityandademonstrable
    ability to relate to students, parents and colleagues with
    empathy and sensitivity;

  • Has a mature, responsible, patient and resilient attitude
    to life and work;

  • Has an ability to be firm while doing so in a friendly,
    engaging and respectful manner;

  • Is reliable, responsible and well organised with strong
    communication skills;

  • Has good, reliable and balanced judgement and the
    ability to think clearly and rationally in an emergency;

  • Is a good team player who will work well with colleagues
    and students alike, both in the boarding context and
    wider school community, as appropriate; and

  • Has good practical and administrative skills.
