QKnox extends contract
at Deceuninck-Quick Step
Deceuninck-Quick Step may
have a lot going on in France
right now, but they still found
time to sort out a new contract
for promising British rider
James Knox. The
23-year-old, who hails
from Cumbria, has
been with the team
nearly two seasons
and showed
promise in the
Giro d’Italia
— his fi rst Grand
Tour — in May
before being
forced to
abandon due to
a knee problem
sustained in
a crash.

18.057
miles covered by 90-year-old John Lee in 60 minutes
at Welwyn track last week, setting a new age-related Hour
record. It is Lee’s fourth Hour record — he set the fi rst when he
was 80 with a distance of 21.281 miles. Lee, who is president of
Icknield Road Club, has been racing his bike since 1952. “A lot of
people in life when they get to a certain age think well, that’s it,
I can’t do anything,” he said after setting the record. “But you
can if you’ve got the will to do it and of course the fi tness.”

QBrother sweep the boards at National Circuit Champs
The National Circuit Championship in Rochester, Kent,

outsprinted team-mate Anna Henderson, with
Gabriella Shaw and Charmaine Porter, coming in a
minute behind. In the men’s race Joey Walker
(Madison-Genesis) outsprinted unlucky Isaac Munday
(Richardsons-Trek), who unclipped in the fi nishing
straight. Matthew Bostock (Canyon-dhb-Bloor
Homes) was third.
