Parcours was founded in 2016 by Dov
Tate, an Oxford engineering graduate
who couldn’t find an affordably priced,
aero-tested carbon clincher wheelset
that was up to his standards, so decided
to create his own.
Tate spent time in China researching
rim suppliers and also tested wheels in a
wind tunnel in North Carolina for himself
before launching his first range of three
aero wheels.
Now, three years on, there are five
Parcours wheelsets including a disc rear
wheel for time trialling costing £899 or
£919 in disc-brake format and, at the
other end of the range, an aluminium
wheelset called the Paniagua, which
costs £379 or £399 in disc-brake format.
In-between are the 40mm-rimmed
Grimpeur (£799/£819), the 56mm
Passista (£859/879) and the 77mm
Chrono (£959/£979). All the Parcours
rims are tubeless ready and follow the
trend for wider rims, with internal rim
widths of 19 or 20mm.
Parcours already has a portfolio of
sponsored athletes that includes the
Melbourne-based Kern racing team.
Can a set of Passistas make CW’s Paul
Norman even faster? Well, it seems like
Tate does know his aero onions so keep
an eye on http://www.cyclingweekly.com to
find out.
