and colonies of interest to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. Applications for the following events are due shortly. Con-
ferences and festivals with rolling, first-come, first-served admission are listed well in advance. Some accept registration on the date of the

Broadleaf Writers Conference
The fourth annual Broadleaf Writers
Conference will be held from September
21 to September 22 at the Cobb Galleria
in Atlanta. The conference features
workshops for poets, fiction writers, and
nonfiction writers, as well as panels and
individual consultations with agents and
publishing professionals. The faculty
includes poet Collin Kelley; fiction writ-
ers Becky Albertalli, Angie Thomas, and
Julian Winters; and nonfiction writer
Denene Millner. Participating publish-
ing professionals include agents Moe
Ferrera (BookEnds Literary Agency) and
Kelly Peterson (Rees Literary Agency)
and editors and publishers Lou Aronica
(Story Plant) and Steve McCondichie
(Southern Fried Karma). The cost of the
conference is $225 ($200 for Broadleaf
Writers members), which includes a
consultation with an agent or publishing
professional. Additional consultations
are available for $25. Single-day passes
are also available for $150. Registration is
first come, first served. Lodging is avail-

Cape Cod Writers Center
Conference
The 2019 Cape Cod Writers Cen-
ter Conference will be held from
August 1 to August 4 at the Resort and
Conference Center in Hyannis, Mas-
sachusetts. The conference features
workshops and craft classes in poetry,
fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well
as mentoring sessions with agents. Fic-
tion writer Richard Russo will deliver
the keynote. The faculty includes poet
Enzo Silon Surin and fiction writers M.
William Phelps, Marcella Pixley, and
Tim Weed. Participating publishing
professionals include editor Christina
M. Frey (Editorial Freelancers As-
sociation), social media expert Bobbie
Carlton, and agents Lori Galvin (Aevitas
Creative Management), Steven Hutson
(WordWise Literary), and Linda Konner
(Linda Konner Agency). Tuition is $150
for a three-session course, $120 for a
two-session course, or $70 for a single
workshop. Manuscript consultations are
available for an additional $150; query
consultations with agents are available
for an additional $25. General registra-
tion is $80 (free for Cape Cod Writers
Center members). Lodging is available
at the conference hotel for a discounted
rate. The registration deadline is July 19.

Catamaran Writing Conference
The 2019 Catamaran Writing Con-
ference will be held from August 4 to
August 8 at the Robert Louis Stevenson
School in Pebble Beach, California. The
conference features workshops, craft
talks, and daily excursions for poets,
fiction writers, and creative nonfic-
tion writers. The faculty includes poets
Michelle Bitting and Dorianne Laux, fic-
tion writers Peter Ho Davies and Eliza-
beth McKenzie, and creative nonfiction
writer Wallace J. Nichols. The cost of
the conference, which includes tuition,
shared lodging on campus, and all meals,
is $1,350; commuter tuition, which
includes all meals, is $950. Registration
is first come, first served. Workshops are

Colrain Poetry Manuscript
Conference
The Colrain Poetry Manuscript Con-
ference will be held from August 9 to
August 12 at the Brandt House Estate
in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Poets
who have previously attended a Colrain
conference, or whose manuscripts are
under contract for publication or have
been a winner, finalist, or semi-finalist
for a prize, are eligible. The confer-
ence features evaluation and discussion
of book-length and chapbook-length
poetry manuscripts with poets, editors,
and publishers. The faculty includes
poet Joan Houlihan and editor Martha
Rhodes (Four Way Books). The cost
of the session, which includes lodging,
meals, and a manuscript consultation,
is $1,675. Using the online submission
system, submit three to four poems
