07:30 LAGOS FISH MARKET


No visit to Lagos would be complete without checking
out the iconic fi sh market in the Mercado Municipal
building that dates back to 1924. With three fl oors of
fresh produce, including the best of the daily fi sherman’s
haul, get there early to bag the best of the catch of the day.
09:00 COFFEE AND WAVES
Swing by Coff ee and Waves to snag one of the best
coff ees (and smoothie bowls) in town. Peruse locally-
shaped Bob’s Boards in the store, sign up for a ‘make
your own board’ workshop, and you can get dings fi xed
here too.
09:30 YOGA AT INLIGHT
Open your heart to the day with a magical, drop-in yoga
class with Miri at Inlight Studio. Plus, fi nd alternative and
holistic therapists and practitioners, nestled in the old
town of Lagos.
10:30 BREAKFAST AT BORA
Pick an outside pew and people watch in the morning
sun, while tucking into 100% locally grown produce
(think vegetarian and vegan friendly), heaped plates of
eggs, veg, smoked salmon toasts, pressed juices and
smoothies.
11:00 SURFING
Surf legends The Surf Experience have been the go-to
surf camp for some 25 years. With unbeatable prices,
accommodation at their central surf hostel, incredible
food courtesy of local chef Rachel Snow, and coaching
with video analysis, check in and expect to come away
with friends for life.
13:00 LUNCH AT THE BLUE DOOR
You’ll probably spot the queue snaking through the Blue
Door, which sits off the main central square in Lagos.
Fear not, it’s worth the wait, with the in-house family
chefs serving up the best local Portuguese cuisine in
town – juicy fi sh steaks, garlicky prawns and clams, and
local Vinho Verde (green wine) to wash it all down.
15:00 CASA MAE
Check in to this chic and cool hotel made for those

looking for barefoot luxury. Nestled against the ancient
city walls of Lagos (dating back some 500 years), enjoy

and jewellery.
18:00 THE SKETCH SESSIONS
Local artist and lady-logger Millie Wilkins runs roving art
meets – The Sketch Sessions – from diff erent locations.
Locals, surfers and travellers sign up to get creative,
make new friends, get creative juices fl owing and check
out some of Lagos’ best coff ee and beer haunts.
21:00 DINNER AT A FABRICA
A short drive away at Praia da Luz, A Fabrica is a family
owned and run ocean-side gem – and one of the
best-kept secrets in the Algarve. Housed in an epochal
sardine canning factory dating back to 1884, here you
can expect an incredible à la carte menu showcasing
the best of the region’s cuisine, with incredible cocktails
whipped up by mixer maestros Carl and Jodi.
00:00 RED EYE BAR
THE spot to toast your day’s surf at, Red Eye bar has
been a Lagos institution for nearly 20 years – boasting
a killer happy hour, pool table and awesome bar staff.
