In 2009 Tatler chose Elettra Wiedemann to model couture in Paris, in a
shoot inspired by the Audrey Hepburn film Funny Face. The daughter of
Italian actress Isabella Rossellini and her second husband Jon Wiedemann,
Harvard graduate and Calvin Klein model, was a high-fashion bride in
embroidered silk Dior. Modelling for the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Annie
Leibovitz and Arthur Elgort from 2002 to 2013, she became the face of
Lancôme (like her mother before her) in 2006, and at the time of this shoot
was also studying for an MSc in Biomedicine at LSE. A combination of
aesthetic necessity (fitting into sample sizes) and scientific enquiry (researching
sustainable agriculture) fed a love of food that led to her blog, Impatient Foodie,
but clearly she’s still in thrall to fashion’s siren call: last autumn she walked for
Dolce & Gabbana with her mother and her young son, Ronin, by her side.
