Old friends and new alighted on St James’s when Tatler

Editor Richard Dennen hosted a dinner to celebrate

Christie’s Luxury Week at its King Street headquarters,

sealing a centuries-old alliance. After all, it was in the

same postcode that Tatler and the auction house were

both founded in the 1700s. With rooms packed full of

historic Birkin bags and Vuitton trunks, Sabine Getty,

dressed in YSL from Catherine Deneuve’s collection,

perused mega jewels. An intimate supper was served

in the hallowed boardroom on tables bedecked with

summer blooms and the drinks were curated, naturally,

by Christie’s expert wine department.
