Flying into the country with a long list of people

to see, but barely any time? Then, as Violet

Manners discovered when she landed from LA,

there’s only one invitation you need to accept:

Laurent Feniou’s lunch for the Cartier Queen’s

Cup. She wasn’t the polo’s only transatlantic

drop-in: a clutch of A-listers were in attendance,

too, who mingled with Urs Schwarzenbach and

Alexandra Moncreiffe between tables set with

Cartier-red peonies and strawberry plants. The

champagne and chukkas set a jubilant tone for the

rest of the day, which culminated in the prizegiving

by HM herself.
