PLATE Marked Wedgwood // English
Late 19th or early 20th century
Collector Rosemary Burgher owns few pieces of majolica
with monochromatic patterns, and this luncheon plate with a
sunfl ower design is one of them. This is a later piece produced
by Josiah Wedgwood and Sons, the sunfl ower representing the
simpler, more humble motifs of the Aesthetic Movement that
came in on the heels of the fussier Victorian Age.
