A space Michael Gordon calls
the Hall With Balls separates his
upper and lower gardens. An
arched arbor gives passersby a
tantalizing peek beyond the hedge
that separates the more public
upper garden from the private one
below. Blue-green tufts of ‘Blue
Zinger’ sedge fl ow along the stone
walk and lap against the clipped
boxwood. A transitional space, the
“hall” is planted simply in shades of
green with contrasting textures.
