Launched in 1989, in Gorai, Mumbai, EsselWorld was India’s
first themed amusement park to introduce international
technologies and rides. The park garnered such a cult
following that fairs and carnivals around the city started
adopting the name EsselWorld to describe their attractions.
The structure of the park has always been concentrated
around a semi-urban aesthetic with a focus on the
surrounding environment. Its design is considered to be
sustainable, since every element of the park that was built
three decades ago is still intact and merges well with the new
additions. The 42-acre complex has managed to capture the
concept of outdoor entertainment perfectly, and with over 57
attractions, it has something for all age groups. Keeping the
tropical climate of India in mind, the authorities ensure that
trees are planted all over the park to provide a green, healthy
and fun-filled experience for its patrons.
