pop band, Clean Bandit, were
in Mumbai to join Indian
singer Benny Dayal at a music
event. The trio, made up of Grace
Chatto and brothers Luke and Jack
Patterson, have sold 44 million
global singles, working with artistes
such as Demi Lovato and Sean Paul
on their hit tracks Solo and Rockabye.As part of their visit, Clean Bandit and
Benny Dayal made an appearance
at a launch party in Mumbai on 16
May 2019 at The St Regis in Lower
Parel, Mumbai, to give select fans an
exclusive opportunity to meet them
up close and personal. This event saw
fans come together to watch Benny
perform live and Clean Bandit play
an exclusive DJ set which included
some of their own biggest hits such asSymphony, Solo, Rockabye and a new
single Mama.In a short chat with me, Grace
Chatto said, “We’re excited to
collaborate with Benny Dayal on the
Tuborg Open project and to learn
more about the people and places
that inspire his music. Our brief
India trip was just a sneak peek of
that. We had a great time interacting
with fans in Mumbai and are really
looking forward to seeing what we
can create with Benny in the coming
weeks.”During their two-day India visit,
Benny shared Mumbai’s local
culture with them, to give them
a better understanding of the
influences and styles that make
music in India. Clean Bandit is also
working on a track with Dayalwhich will be released soon. Chatto
further added: “We look forward
to collaborating with Dayal and
creating a track that truly reflects
the ‘Open for Fun’ attitude of the
Indian audiences.”With the launch of the collaboration,
Benny and Clean Bandit are hoping
to encourage music fans to press
shuffle on their usual musical choices,
allowing them to open their minds to
new and diverse experiences.Clean Bandit and Benny Dayal
were part of the third edition of
Tuborg Open — a global music
project which uses music as a
platform to encourage people to
be ‘Open for Fun’ by pushing the
boundaries of what they know and
like.
