actor told People.
Brandon’s turbulent love life extended to an on-
again, off -again romance with sister Brenda’s
on-again, off -again BFF Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth).
The couple almost married in season 8 before mutu-
ally deciding—at the altar—that they were better off
as friends. He found more success in the professional
arena, even if he did miss out on a summer internship
with the Boston Globe to drive cross-country with
college girlfriend Susan Keats (Emma Caulfi eld ).
After graduating from California University, he
and Steve began publishing the Beverly Beat news-
paper, which helped Brandon later on, landing him a
dream job with the New York Chronicle’s
Washington bureau.
When his career took him to the East Coast, he left
the Walsh family house in the capable hands of buddy
Steve, driving away into the night to embark on a new
future. Although So Cal was never quite the same
without the charming do-gooder, Priestley says that
Brandon ended up right where he belonged. “Bran-
don today would still be in Washington, D.C.,” he told
Today. “I think he would be enjoying his time with all
of his Republican cronies in D.C., doing his thing.”
