1st//Best in the West & Ali Machinchy//
Beechcraft T-34B
Defending their fi rst-place title from the past two years, the
team’s Mentor scored 98.250 points from the static judges.
Pilot Ali Machinchy fl ew the monster-scale, 136-inch-span
model with a Spektrum DX20 to earn a total of 196.850 points.


5th//Team Falcon Props & Curtis Switzer//WACO
Th e 1/3-scale, 120-inch WACO is powered by a DLE 222cc
4-cylinder gas engine spinning a Falcon 32x10 propeller, and
it weighs 70 pounds. Built from the AMR kit, it earned 95.500
static points, and Curtis fl ew it using a Jeti radio to a total of
142.75 points.


6th//Mirce Fierce F-104 & Barry Raborn//
F-104 Starfighter
Built from Mirce plans, this 1/4-scale, 192-inch-long jet is
powered by a BF 300 turbine. Built from a wood kit, it earned
90.833 points from the static judges but no fl ight points.

2nd//Team Meister & Dino DiGiorgio//Zero
Th is is the third year in a row that Team Meister and their
Zero have earned the second spot in this class. Th e 1/4-scale
Japanese Navy Zero built from enlarged Meister Scale plans
was fl own by Dino DiGiorgio using a Spektrum DX18 to a total
of 196.117 points. Powered by a Moki 215cc gas engine turning
a Xoar 26x16 prop, the 118-inch-span model earned 97.917
points on the judges’ table.
