The first model in the Solaris Power range is an elegant and smartly
designed lobster boat, endowed with excellent sailing prowess
and an outstanding level of comfort. With LOA at 17.15 m, beam at
5.28 m, draft just 0.7 m (enabling access to shallow waters), and
displacement (empty) of 23 tons, this is the proud descendant of the
famous family of American lobster fishing vessels, created in the
20s on the Atlantic Seaboard, and soon adopted and glamourized by
the New England aristocracy, including VIPs like JFK.
The boat features perfect integration between last-generation
Volvo Penta IPS propulsion and hull geometry. This solution allows
maximum hydrodynamic efficiency, and, unlike ordinary planing
boats, the Solaris Power 55' can sail in displacement at low speeds
and transition smoothly to planing speeds when travelling over 35kts.
This was made possible mostly thanks to the long and fruitful
collaboration between Victory Design, owned by Mr. Acampora,
and Volvo Penta. Considering the great potential advantages of
the Inboard Performance System (IPS) for motor yachts, Brunello
Acampora has been developing optimized hulls since 2005.
Moreover, a very simple joystick enables handling in harbour and
docking without the assistance of thrusters. The compact engine
plant and a coordinated design approach for enhanced liveability
make the Solaris Power 55' as spacious as much longer boats,
creating a perfect stowage facility for the tender that can be
launched and hauled very easily.
This boat is Norberto Ferretti's brainchild, conceived for optimum
comfort and functionality, making life on board extremely user-
friendly. Her many features comprise lower and well-protected
lateral walkways, side terraces that can be opened, a door on the
wheel side leading to the walkway for easy communication with
the wharf during docking operations, a comfortable sun-top, and
an engine room which is rationally laid out, well-ventilated, and
offering easy access to all the systems.
Across all options, the main deck is very
spacious, with sun lounges both on the
foredeck and abaft, that can be shaded
