GURU PUJA SPECIAL EDITION
here was a lot of commotion andT
upheaval in the mind. A feeling of
burden and lethargy! Emotions were
befuddled! This was the state of the mind of a
disciple. The disciple was– Chhatrapati Shiva
Ji.
With fierce winds of thoughts in his mind,
Shiva ran towards his Master. As soon as he
reached in the holy company of Samarth Guru
Ramdas Ji, he found him highly active and
enthusiastic. His disposition was replete with
promptness! Just as he saw Shiva, he started
speaking with full flow– “It's good Shiva that
we have met today. Otherwise, whenever you
visit the hermitage, I am always away on my
spiritual duties. What can I do? I have to visit
villages and towns. There is a lot of work that
needs to be done... establishing Ashrams,
disseminating the message of divine truth,
raising voice against social evils, etc. Ah! The
propagation of religion and truth is not at all
an easy task. O Shiva! Sometimes, I get really
fed up! Amidst such speculations, I convey to
Lord Rama, 'Day after day, the same set of
tasks... spreading the message of truth,
preaching about religion, etc. ...Why all this is
in my share alone?' But then Lord Rama
speaks silently in my ear– “Samarth, you have
been chosen for this task and have also been
blessed with the potential to do it.”
A big question sprang in Shiva's
subconscious– “What is Gurudev talking about
today? Being fed up of spreading the message
of truth!! He is the Almighty himself, in its
elemental form. An incarnation of the Lord!
Then, how come he is getting tired of doing
this?”
But before Shiva could put forward the
voice of his mind, the Master started off again–
“You know Shiva, I met a farmer one day. He
told me– “Ploughing the ground, sowing
seeds, irrigating the farm from time to time,
protecting the crops from worms and weeds,
and then finally reaping... season after season,
I am engaged with the same monotonous
routine. I feel bored and tired! Sometimes, I
