GENERATIONAL FLOW

S

how me a man’s friends and I’ll tell you his future, but show me his family
and I’ll tell you how he was raised. When it comes to the Millan family, let’s
just say they have an affinity for classic cars that’s almost 50 years old,
and as a result they’ve influenced brothers Rafael and Johnny to carry on
the family tradition. As kids, the two watched as their family collected and restored
classic cars and now they’re carrying on the family tradition with these two Impalas.
To begin their journey, Rafael started with a ’62 while his brother, Johnny, picked up
a ’63, and from that point on the family got together to help create these two incredible
builds they call “Yin & Yang”—a name adopted from the black and white combo of the
cars that come together to make the perfect combo. The rebuild of both cars didn’t
come without its fair share of headaches, but in the end it’s not only representing
lowrider culture but the Millan family, as these brothers go from students to masters
in a family that’s long been devoted to the cultural flavor of lowriding. Visit
