lenn purchased this Breakout in 2013 from
Central Harley-Davidson in Bendigo and
he emphasises how good the customer
service was from Steve Elliot who, sadly,
has since passed.
Every panel on Glenn’s Ned Kelly tribute Breakout
is curved in a way that picks up reflections and shad-
ows from every direction yet, when you look, you’ll
see the amazing digital artwork applied by Custom
Digital in Adelaide, South Australia.
Having seen their work on Facebook, Glenn was
“blown away by the high-quality detail that these guys
provide.” Paul Johnson and Mark Cousins developed
the artwork as a collaboration of two minds with the
aim of honouring Ned Kelly.
The design begins on the fuel tank showing Ned
Kelly in his iconic armour and helmet, protecting his
homestead with guns at the ready. A Harley-Davidson
skull logo and text are central on Ned’s chest, £8000
Reward posters are scattered about the image, and
wooden cart wheels date the scene to the 1800s.
From this beginning, the design flowed for the
rest of the bike. The rear guard has a hand-written
letter by Ned Kelly, fixed by a knife on rustic planks
of wood. His own words ringing loud and proud
