COPY THE
PATTERNS
Highlight the portrait
layer again, then select
some of the black lines
on the dress and again
copy them to a new layer.
Name the layers ‘orange
dress’ and ‘black dress’.
Highlight the orange
dress layer. Click the
bounding box, then right-
click over the box and
choose Warp.
05
WARP THE LAYER
Drag the grid to
stretch and bend the
layer into a new shape.
You can move the grid in
any way you like, and you
can also drag portions
back inwards on each
other to dramatically
change the shape. Aim
to create a curve that
extends downwards
from the body. Press
Return to apply.
06
PAINT A MASK
Highlight the black
dress layer and warp it in
the same way. Duplicate
the black dress layer and
drag the copy above the
orange dress layer. Click
the Add Layer Mask icon
in the Layers panel then
grab the Brush tool. Paint
with black over some of
the stripes to hide them
so it looks like they’re
interweaving.
