annual turnover of £2 8 million. The
show introduced him to Loui, a
teenager who needed some guidance.
Here, Paul tells TV Times more...

What made you take part?
I had such a bad experience at
school and having the chance to go
back made sense to me. Visiting
made me feel embarrassed about
how I acted, but as a child you don’t
realise how hard teachers work.

You left school with just one GC SE.
How hard was it to find success?
I joined the Navy, but after that, I
just couldn’t find work. Eventually,
I started my business in my
bedroom with a dusty laptop and
£500. By doing the show, I wanted
the chance to help some kids and
show them what hard work can do.

What was it about Loui that
struck a chord with you?
He was a replica of me as a kid!
When I saw him selling sweets out of
his bag, it made me laugh. I used to
sell second-hand clothes at school.

How have you helped Loui since
the show stopped filming?
I’m mentoring him, so he comes to
the office every two weeks and we’re
helping him to become a salesman.

How do you see Loui’s future?
The ultimate dream is for him to be
an employee. He’s very passionate
and impatient, he wants to make
money and I want to help him, but
he’s got to come to work. Hopefully,
with our help, he can keep himself
on the straight and narrow.
