individuals may be seen together. But it is also possible to fi nd a lone, older male kiang wandering across the Changthang plains.
TOP Since the habitat of the kiang is also used by large herds of domestic sheep and goats belonging to the Chang-pa community, herders believe
kiangs reduce forage availability for their livestock. The animals are therefore often driven away from their natural pastures.
