The “Surgical Clinic” was founded by

the first board-certified surgeons, Dr. J.

Harvey Johnston Jr. and Dr. George E.

Twente, in Mississippi in the early 1950s.

Since that time, the clinic has grown and

provided Jackson and the surrounding

area with skilled surgeons of the highest

stature. The clinic currently has 155 years

of post-training surgical experience.

using the most advanced technolog y

(minimally invasive-laparoscopic and

robotic, gastrointestinal, breast, endocrine,

hepatobiliary, colorectal, skin, hernia, and

oncologic) are offered to our patients. Our

physicians are each certified or eligible

to be certified by The American Board

of Surgery and are members of a variety

of organizations such as The American

College of Surgeons. The physicians of

Surgical Clinic Associates are dedicated to

providing patients with professional and

quality care for their surgical needs. Our

physicians have admitting privileges and

are on staff at Baptist Health Systems.
