What is your home country?
I am from Indonesia.

How long have you been in Malaysia?
I have now been here for over a year.

What motivated you to look to Malaysia
for your education plans? Prices? Tropical
location? Family or friends?
Malaysia has a good opportunity to start
my carrier. It is not very far from my
hometown, and I feel the food here is
quite interesting to explore. I’ve been very
engrossed with the world of pastry since I
am doing patisserie in culinary arts.

Has the academic programme been
satisfactory? Do you find the coursework
engaging?
Yes, it has been very satisfying, because
I can learn what I love from the best. The

What is your home country, and how
long have you been in Malaysia?
I’m from India, and I have been in
Malaysia for about two and a half years.

What motivated you to look to Malaysia
for your education plans? Prices? Tropical
location? Family or friends?
My main motivation to come and pursue
my education in Malaysia was
Le Cordon Bleu. I was quite interested
with the curriculum offered in the
Malaysia campus as well as the teaching
methodology. Secondly, Malaysia is a
tropical place with a lovely climate and
great food.

Has the academic programme been
satisfactory? Do you find the coursework
engaging?
The academic curriculum was more
than satisfactory as I received one of the
best educations of my life, and it helped
me turn my passion into my career. The
internship program was an amazing
experience, after which I landed my first
job as a Commis 2 at the Ritz-Carlton and
JW Marriott hotels in KL.

What about the extracurricular activities
offered by your school? Are those part of
your life?
The extracurricular activities were great
as we got to engage with the local market
as well as the local farmers which made
it easy for us to understand our food
sources better.

Finally, how about the lifestyle and
“outside of school” offerings in Malaysia
(and/or Kuala Lumpur)? Are you able to
have a good balance of social life and
academic life here?
The life out of Sunway for me was in KL
as I started working there in 2018. Life in
KL has been great, and it is a beautiful
city to live and work in.

Do you find the cost of living – eating
out, activities, social pursuits – to be
affordable?
Yes, I have found that the cost of living in
Malaysia can be very affordable.

Feel free to tell us your school and degree
programme being pursued.
Pursuing Diploma in Food Safety
Management and on my pathway to
receive the HACCP certificates.

Finally, how about the lifestyle and

It is never easy having a perfect balance
between social life and academic life.
However, here I can say that I am able to
have a good balance.

Finally, how about the lifestyle and
“outside of school” offerings in Malaysia
(and/or Kuala Lumpur)? Are you able to
have a good balance of social life and
academic life here?
The lifestyle here matches with mine,
and I am able to adapt with the culture,
the food, the people, and a lot else.
Malaysians are good people, and I like
being friends with them. The development
of the industry that I’m studying is also
promising.
