THE HIGH

POINT

The convincing victory over Leitrim
in Round 2 was definitely Clare’s best
display of the summer so far. Most
pleasing was the performance of their
main men, with Cleary, Jamie Malone,
Gary Brennan and David Tubridy hitting
a remarkable 2-17 between them. That
gilded quartet would make most inter-
county teams.

THE

LOW POINT

Clare have gotten used to being
highly competitive during Colm
Collins’ reign and that’s why the
performance against Kerry in
the Munster semi-final was so
disappointing. Although Clare
only lost by six in the end, thanks
to a battling final quarter, the
scoreboard made grim reading in
the 49th minute when Kerry led
1-13 to 0-4.

MUNSTER QUARTER-FINAL:

CLARE 0-9 WATERFORD 0-8

MUNSTER SEMI-FINAL:

KERRY 1-15 CLARE 0-12

QUALIFIER ROUND 2:

CLARE 3-17 LEITRIM 0-17
