THE HIGH

POINT

Making the near-200 mile trip north to
Owenbeg to face Derry off the back of
a harrowing loss to Meath looked like
the definition of a fool’s errand for John
Sugrue’s men. The journey home was all
the sweeter for it, with Eoin Lowry’s late
goal helping Laois to a great win.

THE

LOW POINT

The 3-13 to 0-11 defeat to Meath
in the Leinster semi-final was right
up there with the 2017 hammering
by Kildare in terms of the low
points of Laois’ modern
history. Laois just never
got going that day back
in early June, with their
shooting in particular
hurting them.

LEINSTER QUARTER-FINAL:

LAOIS 0-12 WESTMEATH 0-10

LEINSTER SEMI-FINAL:

MEATH 3-13 LAOIS 0-11

QUALIFIER ROUND 2:

LAOIS 1-13 DERRY 0-12
