Above the sideboard is a screenprint on handmade
paper, Trois Espaces Rouges, by James Coignard
(1925-2008). On the right is Jean-François Rauzier’s
hyperphoto Laura (from the series Sleeping Beauty),
1998, Diasec mounted C-Type print.

A marble and wood sculpture by Oriano Galloni is on
the left in the entryway. A mixed media on canvas
work by Youri Leroux hangs next to it. The sculpture
outside is Invisible by E. Tyler Burton.

was purchased at an art fair. A paper and wood piece
by Jonathan Borofsky hangs on the right.

admired it and kept returning to look at it.
As a surprise, the wife purchased the piece...
providing the gallery would deliver it to her
husband’s office, covered with gift wrap and
a huge bow.
Of their gallery visits, she says, “We
want to enjoy the process.” They cite
Steven Diamant of Arcadia Contemporary
in Pasadena, California, who “shares our
eye and calls when he finds something
interesting.” In Boston, they frequent the
Krakow Witkin Gallery where they have
found numerous pieces. They have favorite
haunts in other parts of the world, too.
Art occasionally finds its way into
their homes in spontaneous ways. “In the
mid-’90s, New York was hit with a huge
snowstorm,” she reminisces. “Almost
everything was shut down and we were
looking for an open hotel for breakfast.
As we walked up an empty stretch of
Madison Avenue, we were amazed to see
someone sitting in the Tamenaga Gallery...
so we walked in. We were attracted to
