was designated the first music-friendly city in

Texas by the Texas Music Office, Office of

the Governor’s “Music-Friendly Communi-

ties” certification program. There’s a musical

house-on-the-Square Museum, the Bay-

less-Selby House, and the Denton County

African American Museum (located at the

Denton County Historical Park).

This year the Courthouse-on-the-Square

Museum celebrates its 40th anniversary!

Visit the museum gallery to explore the

exhibit 40 For 40: Forty Artifacts for Forty

Years and see unique items that represent

Denton County history. Design a quilt

square and play in the vintage grocery store.

View the historic Commissioners Court-

room on the second floor and see rotating

exhibits throughout the building.
