Luckily I have two daughters and they are already
dipping into my things. They aren’t old enough to
wear the shoes but they take the jewellery, earrings,
make-up and my old swimwear. They’re getting
into the handbags so I don’t feel like it’s a waste. I
remember Yasmin Le Bon once said in an interview
she has three daughters who perpetually raid her
closet. I thought: ‘Yes, that is what mine will do.’”
They are following in your footsteps...
“It’s good to be a role model for your daughters.
That’s why I always work – in TV commercials,
modelling for many big brands. That’s what they’ve
been born into and they don’t know any different.
Acting, singing, dancing, modelling is all second
nature to them. They eat, sleep and breathe it, too.”
You have just branched out into movies...
“Louder is my first full feature film, though in the
past I’ve done short films and TV series and
commercials. I play a main role – as a glamorous
single mother with fabulous clothes; I’m always
strutting around. I’m also the executive producer. I
brought in a lot of the locations and the cast. It has
been my baby for the past year and a half...”
It’s a UAE-centric production, isn’t it?
“It’s a drama set in Dubai and on Abu Dhabi’s Sir
Bani Yas Island, a safari island and absolute heaven.
We flew out Angelica Bridges – who is a talented
friend and used to be the redhead bombshell on
Baywatch – to appear in the movie. We have the
amazing Kris Fade in it, too. It was built on passion
and we did it without a budget, which was a huge
challenge. We were determined to do this. In the
end, 29 different nationalities took part – a melting
pot of people. We have become the Louder family.”
Speaking of family – your daughter Shantilly-Rose
stars in the film. How did that dynamic work on set?
“Sometimes I had to leave her be. I’ve always been
by her side for everything... It was good to let her
