Paul McCobb’s sophisticated style was based
on fine lines and simple geometries. The most
successful creations of the American furniture
designer, who died in 1969, featured slim
metal frames as the foundation of furniture
or shelving units. This year, Danish brand
Karakter is relaunching a series of pieces by
the designer, including this console and
organiser. Perching on his signature frame

base, the desk features carefully considered
details, such as separate storage elements
and drawers, and a drop-down panel that
allows the piece to double as a discreet
console when not in use. The McCobb pieces
join Karakter’s portfolio, which already
includes Achille Castiglioni and Joe Colombo,
affirming the brand’s commitment to bringing
an illustrious design heritage back to life.
