I read the June issue of FPN with great interest

especially the feature on the 30-year

anniversary of the publication.

As the first editor of FPN in 1989 and

co-founder, I have been proud to witness its

incredible journey from humble beginnings in

a semi-detached in New Malden, where each

copy was packed and addressed by hand, to

the sleek, modern and colourful publication

that it is today.

The original format of information and

advice for potential buyers and sellers and an

array of French properties to suit all budgets,

has been taken on by successive editors, and

improved on and expanded.

Over the years FPN has helped many people

to find their dream home in France and it

continues to do so.

I still retain a great affection for France and

travel there whenever I can. I find it hard to

pick a favourite place or region, though the

city of Lyon has a special place in my heart as I

lived and studied there for nine months back

in 1981. It is a fabulous city with parks,

theatres, two major rivers and many fine

restaurants.

I wish FPN every success for the future.
