is on the menu when Jax
and Hayden arrive at
Wyndemere for dinner
with Nina and Valentin.
The guests have a hidden
agenda — and so do the
hosts. Jax and Hayden want
to use their time at her for-
mer dwelling to track down
something that they view
as key to their Valentin-
destroying mission.
Valentin and Nina, mean-
while, “are trying to get
out of Jax what exactly his
connection is to Cassandra
Pierce,” explains James
Patrick Stuart (Valentin).
“Cassandra Pierce is at
the very worst, a threat to
Nina’s life and at the very
least, a threat to Nina’s
safety and freedom based
on stuff that only Nina,
Cassandra and Valentin
know” — namely, that Nina
put her in a coma in 2018.
“They already know that
Jax has a file on her; what
they are trying to get at is
why. What does he know?
What is his affiliation?”
According to Stuart,
Valentin doesn’t buy for a
second that Jax and Hayden
are actually lovers. “I
don’t believe that Valentin
believes that Jax has eyesfor anyone except for
Valentin’s woman! It’s not
like, ‘Oh, thank God he’s
with that pretty woman.’
He is only concerned with
why Jax is so close to Nina.
What’s his objective?
What is he planning on
doing? Nina believes that
Valentin is looking out for
her best interests, which he
is, but he is also looking for
some sort of mechanism to
poison Nina against Jax,
to drive a wedge between
them and also drive Jax
away. And the level he is
willing to stoop to is pretty
amusing. Let’s just say it’s
one hundred percent soap!”
When Valentin explains
to Nina just how he
intends to pry this infor-
mation out of Jax, “It’s a
great moment that is very
unique to Cynthia [Watros,
Nina],” Stuart enthuses.“It was almost comedic in
terms of Nina’s inability to
compartmentalize it.”
Before the dinner party
is in full swing, an unex-
pected mainlander drops
by Spoon Island: Finn,
there to warn Valentin that
Cassandra has been spot-
ted in Italy. “Valentin goes
into fight mode, as opposed
to flight,” the actor opines.
“He gets ready to protect
his woman!”
Expect a comedy of
errors — but one with
serious implications —
to ensue once everyone
assembles at Wyndemere.
Praises Stuart, “The writers
have done a tremendous job
bringing all the ingredients
together so that something
Valentin is doing actually
affects Hayden, and Finn,
and it all comes together
