WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT
YOURSELF IN YOUR ROOKIE YEAR?
“I felt like I really belonged on the fi eld with a bunch of
professionals. It was just cool to feel comfortable playing
football out there.”
WHAT WAS YOUR WELCOME TO THE NFL MOMENT?
“This whole year for me was like that. There was no one
specifi c moment. Just learning all aspects of the game for me
was a welcome to the NFL type thing.”
DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE ABLE TO BRING YOUR
RUNNING STYLE FROM COLLEGE TO THE NFL?
“I think I did. I think I showcased a little more. I was able to
catch more balls this year than I did in my college career. So,
they used me out of the backfi eld more. Also, just running the
ball e ciently. So I was pleased.”
DID YOU KEEP UP WITH THE SUCCESS OF SO MANY
RUNNING BACKS IN THIS ROOKIE CLASS THROUGHOUT
THE YEAR?
“I always enjoy seeing other running backs succeed, especial-
ly knowing them on a personal level like I do. It was awesome.
A lot of people say you don’t need running backs anymore, or
the running back position isn’t as valuable anymore. It was just
nice to see other guys, along with myself, prove themselves.
Whether it was small or big opportunities, a lot of guys proved
themselves this year. I was defi nitely happy to see it.”
WHAT WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE SEEING SO MANY OF
YOUR FIRST FOOTBALL CARDS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR?
“It’s been cool. Sometimes you do things and it just kind of
disappears or you never really see it. But people take this very
seriously. We work really hard pushing this content out to fans,
and it’s cool to see fans really appreciate it. They really do love
to have the cards with us, and it creates a cool bond with us
and the fans. It’s cool that they have the cards that we’ve had.”
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR 2019 ROOKIES?
“Just take advantage of every opportunity. You don’t have
to do all of them, but you should always take advantage of
a good opportunity when you have one. Don’t think that you
are above anything. Don’t think it’s not worth your time. Build
those connections and friendships.”
WHAT VETERANS DID YOU GET TO MEET THAT YOU
WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING?
“Just even the guys on my team was enough for me. I’ve
watched football my whole life, so meeting guys like Matt
Sta ord that have been doing this thing for a long time at a
high level was something I really enjoyed.”
WHAT SHOULD LIONS FANS EXPECT FROM THE OF-
FENSE NEXT YEAR?
“They can expect e ort every play, every quarter of every
game. As an o ense, we want to execute better next year. We
left points on the fi eld. We know that, and they know that. We
want to fi x it to win more games.”
