5 medjooldates(or100gregular dates),
pitted,roughlychopped
100galmonds


100goats(anykind)
100gbuckwheatflour
1 tspbakingsoda
1 tspcinnamon
100gbutter,cubed, softened
50gsugar
3 eggs
3 veryripebananas
¼cupmilk
100gdarkchocolate(atleast 70 percent
cocoasolids),roughlychopped
Sesame seeds, for sprinkling


1 Preheattheovento180°C.Greaseand
linea loaftinwithbakingpaper.

2 Putdatesina smallheatproofjugand
justcoverwithboilingwater.Setaside.

3 Ina spicegrinderorhigh-powered
foodprocessor,grindthealmondstoa
coarseflourandtipintoa bowl.Dothe
sametotheoatsandaddtothebowl.Add
thebuckwheatflour,bakingsodaand
cinnamonandmixwelltocombine.

4 Ina foodprocessor,creamthebutter
andsugartogetheruntilpaleandfluffy,
thenaddeggsoneata time,processing
wellaftereachaddition.Scrapethesides
andbaseoftheprocessorasyougo.

5 Draindatesandaddtotheprocessor
alongwithbananas(breaktheseupa
bit).Processuntiltherearenomore
lumps then add milk and process again.

6 Addthealmondmixtureandpulsea
fewtimes.Addchocolateand pulse until
it alljustcomestogether.

7 Spoonintothelinedtin,sprinkle
generouslywithsesameseedsandbake
for40-45minutesoruntila skewer
inserted into the loaf comes out clean.

Tip
>Thisloafis besteatenthedayit’smade,although
it is alsodelicioustoastedinthetoasterthen
spread with butter and dotted with honeycomb.
