6 ) Layer two blue floral 6×10" rectangles right
sides together. Sew around edges, leaving
a 4" opening in one side (Diagram 2).
Turn right sides out through opening, then
topstitch^1 ∕ 8 " from edges to make a pocket
unit. Repeat to make a second pocket unit.


7 ) Center a pocket unit on quilted bag front
panel, 3" from bottom edge (Diagram 3).
Sew over topstitching line on side and
bottom edges of pocket unit to attach it to
panel, backstitching at beginning and end
of seams. Repeat to add pocket unit to bag
back panel.


8 ) Referring to Diagram 4, mark lines^1 ∕ 2 " from
all edges on wrong side of bottom panel,
then mark lines^1 ∕ 2 " from side and bottom
edges of each side panel.

9 ) Referring to Diagram 5, sew bottom panel
to bottom edges of bag front and bag back
panels using^1 ∕ 2 " seam allowances by sewing
on drawn lines.

10 ) Referring to Diagram 6, page 38, align
short, unmarked edge of a side panel
with top left corner of Step 9 unit. Sew
along top marked line, backstitching at
beginning and end of seam. Repeat to sew
second side panel to bottom left corner of
Step 9 unit.
