1 ) Sew an A segment to bottom edge of a
white linen 3^1 ⁄ 2 " square (Diagram 9).2 ) Join a B segment to right-hand edge of

(Diagram 10).3 ) Sew a white linen 1^1 ⁄ 2 × 41 ⁄ 2 " rectangle to
bottom edge of Step 2 unit (Diagram 11).
Add a white linen 1^1 ⁄ 2 × 51 ⁄ 2 " rectangle to
right-hand edge.4 ) Referring to Diagram 12 and noting
rotation of segments, continue adding
white linen rectangles and segments C–F
to bottom and right-hand edges of Step 3
unit to make a block. The block should be

three rows. Sew together pieces in rows.
Join rows to make a quarter unit. The unit
