FILA EXPLORE
https://filaexplore.comBuilt as an online shop front for sportswear giant FILA’s 2019 Explore
campaign, this is one glitzy brochure experience. Credited to creative
heavy hitters Your Majesty, it features stellar art direction and development
work from local talents Marc Vermeeren and Nicolas Garnier respectively.
The site leverages GreenSock’s Animation API to dazzling effect. Most
impressive is an opening splash screen that reacts to navigational choices.
Mountain, canyon, woods and elements each relate to the core areas of the
Explore range, transforming the background image to reflect a choice. Hover
or touch-drag the cursor, styled as a FILA compass, across each and the
visuals dissolve into a kind of hallucinogenic freak out. Falling back quickly into
a colourised photograph, you can then click through to the themed apparel.
Each section here begins with an embedded Vimeo video, before tickertape
shop links and eye-popping product shots take centre stage. The same kind
of unsettlingly beautiful manipulation is employed here – applying parallax
pixel shifts to <canvas> rendered images. It’s a super cool trick; watching FILA
backpacks, flip-flops, trainers and track wear smear paint themselves into the
