INSPIRATIONS
(^02) ELEPHANT GAMES BY GIDEON MALHERBE
Gideon tells us: “I took this photograph
of two young elephant bulls testing
their strength against each other at the
Okaukuejo waterhole (Etosha National
Park).” His position is perfect, making sure
that the sun would backlight the elephants
and he’s done well to capture all of the
magnificent details.
Lens Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM
Exposure 1/1000 sec, f/8, ISO1000
(^03) SUNSET ON THE SAVANNAH
BY BARBARA GRAHAM
Taken on Safari in the Maasai Mara,
Barbara tells us: “This was an image I had
been hoping to get with not only a beautiful
African sunset, but with antelopes grazing
under the acacia trees”. By underexposing
the image she’s turned the trees and
antelope into eye-catching silhouettes.
Lens Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM
Exposure 1/250 sec, f/8, ISO200
(^04) FLOATING MARKET BY HLAING MYINT MIN
Hlaing explains: “I took this at the floating
village of Inle in Myanmar. It’s famous for
its leg-rowers and is one of the sacred
traditions in the area. On that morning
the weather was incredibly cold, but the
sun was wonderfully bright. We had to
move carefully so that the water wouldn’t
splash our cameras.”
