Scarf neck (make 1)
Using 4mm (UK 8 , US 6) needles and
Yarn D, cast on 24 sts.
Rows 1-4 Knit.
Cast off.
Scarf ends (make 2)
Using 4mm (UK 8 , US 6) needles and
Yarn D, cast on 16 sts.
Rows 1-4 Knit.
Cast off.

Using image as a guide, sew on hat,
nose, arms, mittens and scarf pieces.
Using Yarn A, embroider running stitch
onto cuff of mittens and add fringe to
ends of scarf. Using Yarn D, embroider
on eyes and mouth to snowman, and
thumbs to mittens.
Block pieces to make them easier
to assemble. Lay front of sweater
with garter stitch shoulder sections
overlapping back garter tab section.
Oversew the garter rows together at the
armhole edge only.
Fold sleeves in half lengthwise and
place stitch marker. Use this marker to
line the centre of the sleeve cap with the
shoulder seam (this will be halfway up
the garter shoulder tab), then pin into
position. Once happy, sew into position.
Join side and sleeve seams. Sew on
