Billowing above New York’s Randall’s Island Park,
Black Dada Flag (Black Lives Matter) may be Adam
Pendleton’s best known artwork. It features his easily
recognisable visual style – all black and white, with
declarative text superimposed on found imagery, and
photocopier marks that bear witness to the creative
process. Its message is typical Pendleton, imbued
with the history of America’s racial struggle and given
