Project Space Valentine’s Cards
DESIGNED BY LUCIE HEATON
Stitch a fun card for a special someone to let them know
you love them to the moon and back
this world!
S
how your Valentine they truly
are the centre of your universe
by stitching them one of these
fun space-themed cards! Lucie has
created six pun-tastic designs for
you to choose from with plenty of
colourful motifs and crazy characters!
These cards are easy to stitch,
using just whole cross stitches and
backstitch, so you can whip one up in
no time for your rocket man or space
girl. The zingy motifs really stand out
on the navy aida. If you’ve never tried
working on a dark fabric before, these
will be a great introduction – just
make sure you work in good light and
perhaps try using a magnifier.
To make your stars twinkle even
more in the night sky, how about
swapping in some silver metallic
thread to stitch them with? Or feel
free to go all-out shiny by adding
beads or sequins. Mount your finished
stitching in a square aperture card
and then wait patiently for launch
day on 14 February! 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
We have liftoff!

I had great fun designing these Valentine’s
cards – I can never resist a pun! I really
enjoyed using the navy aida for these
too. I love the contrast this gives with
the bright thread colours.
