IN THE STUDIO
If that suggests an immense level
of self-control, Felicia does admit to
more quotidian influences. She often
photographs colour or design ideas
found in places as unlikely as the
credits to TV series Glow or the label
on a Thousand Island dressing bottle.
It is perhaps this mindfulness and
urge to be present, combined with a
reluctance to fall back on art history
tropes, that has endeared Felicia’s
work to the wider world. And, however
it came about, it is pleasing to know
that she is out there somewhere,
roaming America and treading her
own path, alive to accidental colour
combinations, found compositions
and everyday inspirations.
Felicia will run painting workshops from
17-23 February at London Fine Art
Studios, London SW11 and 27 February
to 1 March at Raw Umber Studios,
