THE LONE AMD WOLF
Gaming notebooks with AMD Ryzen processors are few and far between, and
ones with Radeon dedicated graphics are rarer still. In fact, as I write this, the
Alpha 15 is the only gaming laptop I know of with a Ryzen CPU and a discrete
Radeon GPU. It should come as no surprise, then, that the competitors I chose
for our performance contests all use Intel and Nvidia hardware. They are the
Dell GT 15 (2019), HP Pavilion Gaming PC, Lenovo Legion Y545, and MSI
GL65 9SC-004.
The MSI GL65 is the only other unit here to feature a quad-core CPU and a 4GB
GPU. I included the rest, all of which have six-core Intel Core i7 processors and
