Project Easter Hanging

DESIGNED BY JENNY BARTON
Make your Easter egg-stra special when you display
this adorable hanging in your house
in the hare!
I
t always feels good to use your
skills to mark a special occasion,
and Jenny’s delightful Easter
hanging is a great way to add some
stitchy style to your celebrations.
As well as being a lovely
springtime project, this medium-sized
design on 14-count aida has a variety
of stitches to enjoy. Jenny has used
fractional stitches to create the curved
detail on areas such as the chicks’
beaks and the petals of the flowers.
Backstitch in complementary shades
adds definition to the letters and
various elements of the design, while
the chicks’ and rabbit’s eyes are made
from French knots.
We’ve turned our stitching into a
cheery hanging made from daffodil
yellow and lilac cotton fabric, prettily
finished off with two buttons and a
matching ribbon. Hang it from the
window by the front door to welcome
guests to your home during the
long weekend, or display it above
the dining table to make your Easter
Sunday meal even more special!

I love the beautiful springtime palette
of colours on this design and the fun
chicks and bunny. It’ll be my birthday this
Easter Sunday so I hope that the Easter
Bunny will be very generous this year!
