Armchair Pincushion

You’ll never lose any of your stitching kit again when you

make this oh-so-handy armchair pincushion

everything

W

e’ve all been there: you’re

sitting on the sofa to stitch,

you go to reach for the

scissors, or a pin or your skein – but

they’re not there! Cue a frantic

search down the side of the cushion,

beneath your legs, under the cat...

But with Cheryl’s amazing armchair

pincushion there’s no need to worry

about losing your kit again, as you’ll

have everything right next to you!

This clever piece of kit is daintily

decorated with tiny vintage-inspired

sewing motifs made from whole cross

stitch and backstitch, using a delicate

colour palette that’s sure to match

anyone’s living room décor. The

central panel is lightly stuffed so it can

be used as a pincushion, while the

pockets on the end can hold all the

items from your stash that you need.

You can either stitch the pocket

chart twice or make one of the

pockets from fabric. We’ve made

ours up using pink and blue fabric to

complement the motifs, with lace trim

to add that vintage feel. Your stitching

has never felt so organised!

A place for

I’m always leaving a trail of pins, needles

and thread around the house, so this

armchair pincushion really has helped me

to organise my stitching! I loved creating all

the little retro sewing items on it, too.
