Force Google to show
full URLs
Run a search on Google and you’ll
notice that while web pages are clear,
the URLs are less so – particularly
for subsidiary links associated with
the main page. This can make
navigating Google a little more tricky
and a little less safe.
Show Me URLs (bit.ly/
urls494) is a new Firefox
add-on that forces all Google
search results, whether they’re
main or additional links, to
display the full URL. It makes
the page layout look a little
cluttered, but you’ll know
exactly where you’re headed
should you choose to click the
link, or decide to avoid it
entirely.
The add-on only seems to
work on Google, as other search
engines such as Bing tend to
show you the full URL anyway.
