CUT FABRICS


Cut pieces in the following order.

From solid white, cut:
▫ 9—2^3 ⁄ 4 ×42" strips for border
▫ 36—5^7 ⁄ 8 " squares
▫ 8—5^7 ⁄ 8 " squares, cutting each
in half diagonally for 16 large
triangles total
▫ 76—5^1 ⁄ 2 " squares
▫ 36—3^3 ⁄ 8 " squares
▫ 18—3^3 ⁄ 8 " squares, cutting each
in half diagonally for 36 small
triangles total
▫ 8—3×23" strips
▫ 4—3× 201 ⁄ 2 " strips
▫ 36—3× 51 ⁄ 2 " rectangles
▫ 52—3" squares
From solid aqua, cut:
▫ 16—3^3 ⁄ 8 " squares
▫ 16—3^3 ⁄ 8 " squares, cutting each
in half diagonally for 32 small

ASSEMBLE TRIANGLE-SQUARES
Measurements include^1 ⁄ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated
by arrows on diagrams. If no direction
is specified, press seam toward darker
fabric.

Use a pencil to mark a diagonal
line on wrong side of each solid
white 5^7 ⁄ 8 " square and solid aqua
33 ⁄ 8 " square.

Layer a marked solid white square
atop a solid gray 5^7 ⁄ 8 " square. Sew
together with two seams, stitching

(^1) ⁄ 4 " on each side of drawn line
(Diagram 1). Cut pair apart on drawn
line. Press open to make two gray
triangle-squares. Each triangle-square
should be 5^1 ⁄ 2 " square including seam
allowances. Repeat to make 72 gray
triangle-squares total.

Using marked solid aqua squares
and solid red 3^3 ⁄ 8 " squares, repeat
Step 2 to make 32 red triangle-squares
(Diagram 2). Each triangle-square
should be 3" square including seam
allowances.

ASSEMBLE UNITS

Mark a diagonal line on wrong side
of each solid aqua 3" square and
solid white 3^3 ⁄ 8 " square.

Turn up the volumn by
combining turquoise and red.
