Tips and tricks to keep your clan happy
Family
Build a fun shelter that’s perfect for playtime.
Collect Supplies
You’ll need a 4' x 4' square
blanket, four 48” dowels (at
least 11⁄4” diameter), twine,
clothespins, and two 48” x
48” tablecloths. Pick a shady
spot and lay the blanket flat
on the ground.
Create a Support Structure
Push a dowel firmly into the ground
at each corner of the blanket, then lean
the tops of the sticks in until they touch
above the center of the blanket. Hold the
dowels steady while a helper wraps
twine over, under, between, and around
them to secure them in place.
Finish Up
Drape the tablecloths
around the dowels,
holding them in place
with clothespins. Make an
opening in front by clipping
back the fabric to mark the
entrance to your creation.
