Tweet your Live

Photos as GIFs

Twitter is now allowing you to convert Live Photos into
GIFswitha touchof a button

L

ive Photos have been bringing our images to life
since they were introduced on the iPhone 6S and
iPhone 6S Plus in 2015. By recording what happens
1.5 seconds before and after taking a shot, they are
akin to mini videos and yet they have not proven to be
the easiest media to share, particularly on Twitter where
posting Live Photos would frustratingly turn them into a
static image.
Well, that quirk is now in the past. The social media
giant has introduced a new feature that turns those Live
Photos into GIFs, allowing their dynamic magic to be seen
by your followers and anyone else who cares to take a
look. What’s more, it all works within the app with a press
of a button, while allowing you to preview the image before
you decide to send it.

Step-by-step Share Live Photos as a GIF

1

Compose a tweet
To tweet a Live Photo from your Camera
Roll as a GIF, launch the Twitter app and begin
by tapping the Compose Tweet button located
in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

2

Find a photo
You’ll see your most recently taken
images – if one of them is a Live Photo that you
wish to use, then tap to select. Otherwise tap
the Camera Roll icon above the keyboard.

3

Filter Live Photos
You can now browse all of your saved
images. To make sure that you’re browsing the
right type, however, tap ‘All Photos’ at the top
of the screen and select ‘Live Photos’.
