Carrie’s dream kitchen features a large island and a raised fireplace that keeps
crackling fires at eye level. “I’ve always wanted a kitchen with a fireplace
and initially thought it would be more of a visual and entertaining thing for
everyone to gather around,” she says. In fact, it has evolved into a place to cook
and has become a part of their dinner routine; they regularly make steak, fish,
and pizza there. “It’s the centerpiece of our house,” Carrie says.
