2009
Starts 164
Best result 2nd
Podiums 10
Best season 7th (2013)

Romain Grosjean and Haas will bekeen
to put an awful 2019 behind them. While
the car looked strong intesting, updates
didn’t work as intended and it was proneto
overheating its rear tyres. The woe didn’t
make either driver – both of whom have a
tendencyto moan – any happier. Grosjean,
who once seemed destinedfor greater
things in F1, was given a reprieveby the
team for last year, which has continued into
this. On his day the Frenchman can bevery
fast, but then – suddenly – can inexplicably
find himself in the wall.

GP RACING VERDICT
If the car performs better than last year
then Grosjean will beexpectedto pick up a
decent haul of points

Kevin Magnussen
Age 27
Debut Australia
2014
Starts 102
Best result 2nd
Podiums 1
Best season 9th (2018)

Kevin Magnussen has a reputation as one
of the more aggressive drivers on the race
track and he’s not afraidto push his rivals
to the very limit in wheel-to-wheel combat.
The only problem is when he goestoo far.
A case in point was the Azerbaijan Grand
Prix in 2018, when he collided with Pierre
Gasly as the pair battled battledfor the
final point after a second Safety Car
restart. Now aboutto start hisfourth
season with the Americanteam (and
sixth full year in F1), Magnussen loves the
non-corporate environment at Haas which
allows himto fo cus purely on his racing.

GP RACING VERDICT
Although he has a podium from hisvery
first F1 race in 2014, securing Haas’s first
podium in F1 would taste sweeter.
